Evidence and scope

The October 19, 2026 desk review uses community Beginner's Guide revision 262 and the full All Things How Getting Started walkthrough. The latter supplies the return-to-Leo, shop, equip, and close-bag sequence. This is an attributed route, not a personal first-hour playthrough.

First catch, sale, upgrade, and Halden

The official place description supplies the core loop: play, tune before the Scroom commits, and keep it in the catch zone until the bar fills. Losing the zone drains progress. Community notes recommend low-frequency catches while learning.

All Things How describes the first catch changing the objective to Return to Leo. Finish that conversation before looking for the sale objective. The community Beginner's Guide gives the broad catch, sell, upgrade, and Ocarina order but omits some tutorial hand-offs.

The walkthrough names Julian for the tutorial sale and guitar purchase. Follow the seller name and objective shown in your session if they differ. The individual community guitar article independently records a 100-Chime Grove purchase, not a complete tutorial or stat card.

After buying, open Equipment Bag, select Instruments, equip Tamer's Guitar, and close the bag. The walkthrough then returns to Leo for Tutorial Complete and directions to Halden. Merely owning the guitar is not the reported final step.

Accept Halden's statue task, use Pay Respects at five distinct statues, check the 5/5 counter, and return for the Ocarina. This is separate from the later Tamer in Training level gate: a later guide says 25, while community Quests revision 234 says 15. Check the live quest text.

  1. Speak to Leo at the start and accept the Wooden Lute.
  2. Equip the lute, tune, and complete a first catch by keeping the Scroom in the catch zone.
  3. Return to Leo and complete Getting Started before following the sale objective.
  4. Talk to Julian at the wooden stall. Choose Sell Held or Sell Inventory and confirm the quoted sale.
  5. Buy Tamer's Guitar for 100 Chimes from the tutorial shop.
  6. Open Equipment Bag, select Instruments, and press Equip for the guitar.
  7. Close the bag to clear the Close your bag objective.
  8. Return to Leo and finish the conversation that directs you to Halden.
  9. Speak to Halden and accept The Next Step statue objective.
  10. Use Pay Respects at all five statues, check 5/5, then return to Halden for the Ocarina.

FAQ

I bought the guitar. Why is the tutorial still running?

The linked walkthrough requires equipping it in the Instruments tab, closing the bag, and speaking to Leo again. Follow the active objective if your session differs; this site has not tested the route in-game.

Do I need level 25 before starting the statue hunt?

The reviewed tutorial directs you to Halden after the sale and equipment steps. The disputed level 15/25 condition concerns the later Tamer in Training objective, not evidence of a level-25 requirement for these statues.
